I’m visiting 9 different schools this month to deliver creative art sessions decorating a pile of Christmas presents. This is all in aid of the Norwich Christmas Art Trail, a project I have helped to deliver on behalf of NORCA.
A wooden sculpture depicting a pile of presents has been given to 18 different local schools. Each has been sponsored by a different business or organisation who will publicly display the finished designs over the Christmas period. Participants will be able to follow a trail map around the city to locate each one, and in doing so can be entered into a competition to win a prize.
More details and a trail map can be found here: Visit Norwich Website
The pupils have all worked in different techniques, themes and styles, and I’m looking forward to seeing them all out on display from November 22nd, the night Norwich Christmas lights are turned on.
My schools and sponsors have included:
West Earlham Junior School: Debenhams
Tuckswood Primary School: The Castle Mall
Sewell Park College: Aviva (Surrey House)
Notra Dame High School: John Lewis
Lodge Lane Infant School: The Forum
Magdelen Gates Primary School: The Assembly House Norwich
Catton Grove Primary School: Norwich Theatre Royal
Wensum Junior School: Wilkinson Norwich
The Hewett School: Odeon Cinema
Each stack of presents is sponsored by a Norwich business which includes a charitable donation to Nelson’s Journey. Nelson’s Journey is a local charity founded in 1997 dedicated to supporting bereaved children and young people across Norfolk who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life.
Delighted with our stack of presents and its pantomime theme. Can’t wait to see the others. Thank you Matt; and come see it everyone!
