For the last month I’ve been working with a wonderful creative team of prop makers, artists and steel fabricators at Tin House and Norwich Puppet Theatre to create a fantastical, mechanical and puppet laden boat, designed to welcome the Olympic Torch as it passes through Norwich.
The Harnser (Norfolk dialect for Heron) sails on theatrical animated waves, a puppet figure head at her prow and is chased by a flock of puppet seagulls.
…and last week I’ve been working with an equally talented motley crew of performers and musicians for Norwich Puppet Theatre in order to bring the creation to life, weaving an anarchic comedic story through Norfolk’s heritage of coast and waterways.
